Jeddah Tower Set To Become The Tallest Building In The World: Saudi Arabia’s Bold Leap Into The Future

The Jeddah Tower will begin its construction process which will result in a new architectural landmark that will change the skyline of Jeddah. The tower will rise to a height of one-thousand metres which will make it the tallest building in the world. The tower will stand next to the Red Sea as a representation of Saudi Arabia’s national goals and the economic development of Jeddah.

The Jeddah Tower, located in the Jeddah Economic City, will feature a mix of residential, commercial, and office spaces, along with a luxurious hotel and the world’s highest observation deck, which will stand at 630 metres. The grand project is being developed by the Jeddah Economic Company (JEC), with Kingdom Holding playing a significant role in the development.

Construction of the Jeddah Tower is progressing at an extraordinary pace. Talal Almaiman, CEO of Kingdom Holding, confirmed that one floor is being completed every five days. As of January 2026, the project has reached the 85th floor, an impressive milestone in what is expected to be a groundbreaking engineering feat. Kingdom Holding views the tower as a major investment in the company’s future, with Almaiman remarking that the construction of Jeddah Tower is one of their top priorities for the year.

The Jeddah Tower will not only be the tallest building in the world but also one of the most technologically advanced. According to the developers, the tower’s design includes a variety of high-tech features, including state-of-the-art elevators and a revolutionary air-conditioning system designed to accommodate the extreme height and the region’s harsh climate.

Jeddah, the commercial and cultural hub of Saudi Arabia, is undergoing significant transformation as part of its vision to become a global city. The construction of Jeddah Tower is a reflection of the city’s expanding role in the tourism and business sectors. Once completed, the tower will attract millions of visitors, contributing to Jeddah’s tourism potential and creating thousands of jobs in the region.

Jeddah Tourism, through its official website, has emphasized how the Jeddah Tower will become a central feature of the city’s tourism offerings. As Saudi Arabia moves towards diversifying its economy, the tower will serve as a major attraction for international visitors, offering not just awe-inspiring views, but also luxury accommodations and high-end office spaces. The tower’s strategic location near the Red Sea further enhances its appeal, offering panoramic views of the coastline and city.

In addition to its tourism potential, Jeddah Tower is poised to boost the city’s economy. By housing multinational corporations, high-end retailers, and luxury hotels, the tower will attract significant foreign investment. Furthermore, the world’s highest observation deck will become a must-visit attraction, providing visitors with a bird’s-eye view of Jeddah and beyond, including the stunning Red Sea coastline.

The Jeddah Tower’s construction is a collaborative effort among some of the most renowned names in architecture, engineering, and construction. The architectural design of the tower is led by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, a firm famous for designing some of the world’s tallest buildings, including the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

The project management is overseen by Turner Project Management, while the Saudi Binladin Group (SBG) is the principal contractor. In an exciting development, Finland-based KONE, a global leader in elevator technology, was selected to supply the elevators and people movers for the tower, ensuring that the high-speed elevators are among the fastest and most efficient in the world.

The engineering challenges of constructing such a massive structure are immense, but the innovative solutions being employed are a testament to the cutting-edge technologies that will define Jeddah Tower. The use of advanced construction techniques, including reinforced concrete and high-strength steel, is necessary to support the weight of the structure and ensure stability in the region’s seismic conditions.

The completion of the Jeddah Tower is expected to usher in a new era for the city and for Saudi Arabia as a whole. The tower is not just a building; it is a symbol of the country’s ambitions to become a global player in the tourism and business sectors. Jeddah, already known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning coastal views, will now also be recognised as the home of the world’s tallest building.

For tourists visiting Saudi Arabia, Jeddah has long been a gateway city, offering a unique blend of history, culture, and modernity. The Jeddah Tower will further solidify its status as one of the most dynamic cities in the region, with new hotels, entertainment venues, and attractions catering to a wide range of global travellers.

The tower’s location, along the Red Sea coast, ensures that it will also play a significant role in marine tourism. Visitors will have access to some of the most stunning beaches in the world, with easy access to diving, yachting, and other water-based activities. In this way, the Jeddah Tower will be an essential part of the broader tourism ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.

The Jeddah Tower exists beyond its vertical dimensions because it represents human ambition and technological advancement and urban development. The skyscraper will transform global perceptions of Jeddah and Saudi Arabia because it will attract visitors from all parts of the world. Jeddah Tower will showcase its creators’ vision and Saudi Arabian tourism development through its ongoing construction which will conclude in 2028.
